The purpose
The prisoners union will be the peace of mind behind prison walls. To know you are not forgotten or alone will calm waters between conflicting groups. PURPLE will bring this to prisons. We aim to bring a non-hostile presence where a sufficient quality of life will be legally upheld. Officials will be hesitant to violate the rights of inmates with such an overwhelming presence of the PURPLE union.
Inmates will have a different option to respond to violations which will decrease violence and disturbance. Having help in times of personal crisis have been proven to soothe oncoming confrontations, brutalities, and suicides inside prison walls. PURPLE will lessen their anger, fears and frustrations.
When inmates are released they are groomed with different problem solving tactics. Educated through the PURPLE curriculum they will have learned to be positive and efficient. In time of despair and crisis those released will display productive approaches to conflict as the union teaches. We should see drastic decreases in ethical corruption of penal officials to inmates. A relentless attack to inhumane conditions throughout involved institutions will send immediate warning to other establishments that are in violation.
