about us
We are pleased to provide you with information about PURPLE, what it stands for and why there is such a dire need for the organization throughout this country.
There are roughly 2.4 million people incarcerated in the United States. The largest number in all of American history. With unresolved ethics violations by officers to inmates there will remain constant conflict which can not be resolved due to a gap of mistrust. PURPLE will bridge this gap with hopeful, positive outcomes for both parties. This internal crisis can only be redeveloped with an internal Prisoners’ Union that is supported by dedicated outside organizations.
PURPLE’s mission is to act as an established liaison between inmates and penal officers. To seek peace, enforce rights and to educate inmates to use the pen and not the sword. There should never be violence between deputies and prisoners. We look forward to answering all of your questions.
